New record for unemployment in Greece, which in January according to official data from Elstat (Hellenic statistical office) reached the rate of 27,2%, a further significant increase compared to 25,7% in December. This is obviously the highest percentage since Elstat began calculating the unemployed (2006). The rate is more than two times higher than the eurozone average, which stands at around 12%.
