Granarolo lands in the United States. The Italian company acquired 100% of Calabro Cheese, a US company that sells fresh dairy products, especially ricotta, mozzarella and burrata. The operation will allow Granarolo "to build a strategic platform to distribute a wide range of typical and PDO products from Italy - reads a note - and therefore also to enhance an Italian raw material, in light of the stagnation of the national market" .

Last year, Calabro Cheese's consolidated revenues peaked 25 million dollars, a result in line with previous years, despite the effects of Covid-19. The US company is based in Connecticut, 130 kilometers north of New York, and was founded in 1953 on the initiative of Joseph Calabro and his father Salvatore.

For Granarolo sales abroad in 2020 they represented the 33% of the total. Other acquisitions are planned in the 2021-2025 strategic plan of the Italian company.
