Great Britain's GDP revised downwards. In fact, in the second quarter it recorded an increase of 0,1% compared to the previous three months, while forecasts had indicated an increase of +0,2%. On a trend basis, GDP increased by 0,6% (revised from +0,7%). This decline was mainly caused by the lower expenditure recorded for consumption. This is what the local National Statistical Office reports.
Good news instead for the services sector in Great Britain. The Markit/Cips index rose to 52,9 from 51,1 in August, after the worst monthly drop in the last ten years and moving away from the 50-point threshold that separates expansion and contraction.
