Government: a decree for the Regions on Friday

The provision will solve an accounting problem – The agreement on the Stability law is approaching, in particular as regards the funds for Healthcare – Chiamparino and Lorenzin are confident, while Maroni, Toti and Zaia are critical.

Government: a decree for the Regions on Friday

"Friday we will have a cabinet which will launch the decree that will solve an accounting problem of the Regions“. This was announced yesterday by the undersecretary to the presidency of the Council, Claudius DeVincenti, after yesterday's confrontation between the Government and the Regions on the Stability law. "Next week instead, perhaps Friday - added De Vincenti -, the council of ministers will approve a decree that will contain some measures and some resources regarding important issues, such as the rehabilitation of Bagnoli, the land of fires, how to give a future to the legacy of the Expo to make it an aggregator area of cultural initiatives in the spirit of the Expo, and interventions to strengthen the action of the commissioner for Rome, the Region and the prefect Gabrielli of all the subjects who are called to organize the Jubilee in the best possible way" .

The president of the delegation of governors of the Regions, Sergio Chiamparino, gave a "positive evaluation" of yesterday's meeting, "for the timeliness and because an agreement on the path and merits that can lead us to agree with the stability law has been established". However, "two problems" remain to be solved: the 4,2 billion in cuts deriving from the previous one ("two billion account for the lower increase in the health fund, the rest insists on other sectors"), while "the second issue is the health: an increase of one billion is expected (from the National Health Fund, ed), but the accounts say that the total cost to be covered is 2 billion between contracts, innovative drugs, Lea (essential levels of assistance)".

Chiamparino does not rule out the possibility that there may be an increase in the funds allocated during the work: "We have defined a deadline to understand the possible innovations in the light of a job that will be fundamental, given that, among other things, it will also deal with the centralization of purchases, above all to understand the financial repercussions of this work and therefore to understand if the missing billion can be implemented in 2016 or if interventions can be made on the multi-annuality".

Satisfied the Minister of Health, Beatrice Lorenzin: “It was an extremely positive meeting – he said -, we all shared together the method which is the health pact. There are 1,3 billion more than last year, we must ensure that it can produce value and that the Regions can use this money in the best way. The method undertaken this evening will allow us in a year's time to make an interesting balance sheet to understand how it went, even on long-term profiles. For example, we could free up resources and in a few months we could see the effects, for example, on people being treated for hepatitis C”.

In a different opinion, the governor of Lombardy, Robert Maroni: “Hot air, the usual repeated promises. We asked to increase the fund which was reduced, they said no. We asked for standard costs to be implemented, they told us that a table will be created which perhaps in 2016 will lead to some results. So for my part, for our part, absolute dissatisfaction ”. Critics too John Toti e Luca Zaia who respond to the joke "we have fun with the Regions" pronounced by Renzi in recent days. “We didn't have big laughs,” says Toti. “We were absolutely not amused also because we are talking about the health of citizens,” says Zaia.
