Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni is back to work after the angioplasty he underwent at the Gemelli in Rome, and he does so a few hours after his resignation from the hospital in the capital to preside over the Council of Ministers. On the agenda of the session of Saturday 14 January there was above all the preliminary examination of the first eight (out of the total nine) implementation decrees of the Buona Scuola, in particular those with the rules concerning students with disabilities, education and vocational training, the integrated system from birth to six years, the promotion of humanistic culture and artistic heritage and creativity, and the Italian school abroad.

The Council of Ministers has also given the definitive green light to three legislative decrees on civil unions. “With today's legislative decrees we finish the process of #civil unions. It was a promise, now it's a law ”, tweeted the undersecretary to the presidency of the council Maria Elena Boschi announcing precisely the green light to the legislative decrees.

Finally, on the proposal of the Minister of Defence, Roberta Pinotti, the CDM extended the assignment for the commander General of the Carabinieri Tullio Del Sette (investigated in Naples in the investigation into Consip tenders), for the Chief of Defense Staff Claudio Graziano and for the Chief of Staff of the Army Danilo Errico.
