Government, stop the increase in petrol

There will be no dreaded increase in petrol prices. In fact, the increase in excise duties should have started today, foreseen by the safeguard clauses inserted after the EU rejection on the extension of the reverse charge to large-scale distribution. The higher expected revenue from the prolonged return of capital at the end of the year will cover the hole in the public accounts

Government, stop the increase in petrol

The Government stops the increase in excise duties, which would have caused a rise in petrol. In fact, a lightning Council of Ministers held today gave the green light to two important decrees: the tax one blocks, among other things, the increase in excise taxes on petrol and extends the terms of the voluntary disclosure; the other on local authorities.

This was announced by the Minister of Infrastructure Graziano Delrio, at the exit from Palazzo Chigi.

The increase in excise duties was provided for by the safeguard clause for the failure to collect the 728 million from the extension of the reverse charge to large-scale distribution, the reversal of the VAT payment rejected by Brussels. Now it is blocked thanks also to the money that will enter the cash register with the extension of the terms for the return of capital.
