They are the symbol par excellence of the privileges and waste granted to the Italian political caste. And finally, it seems, they are about to suffer a real sting. We speak of course about blue car. The Tar, which had issued an ordinance to request the revision of the law, received this morning from the Prime Minister the new decree presented by the Minister of Public Administration, Filippo Patroni Griffi.
The goal is to cut service cars to constitutional bodies and local bodies to "achieve significant savings", as stated in a note from the Executive released today, when this morning's CDM had already begun. The new measure requires the use of public transport unless urgently needed, correcting the previous decree, which instead prescribed "the alternative use of public transport only when equal effectiveness is ensured".
Other changes then intervene "in relation to the exclusion from the application - continues the note - of the constitutional bodies, of the Regions and local bodies, as well as of the administrations that use no more than one service car". Lastly, “the rule which grants administrations a thirty-day deadline for notifying the Department of Public Function of the purchase or possession of a motor vehicle is eliminated”.
