Thursday the government was disavowed by Parliament on four amendments to the Milleproroghe decree. The topics were various (Ilva, cash, animal experiments and school rankings), so the incident - which took place in the joint Constitutional Affairs and Budget committees of the Chamber, where the decree is under discussion - does not concern a particular issue, but it is connoted as a political signal of rupture.

As for the amendment on the former Ilva, all the majority parties - except the League - voted to repeal the Milleproroghe article which moved 575 million of the billion seized from the Rivas (the former owners of the Taranto steelworks) to decarbonisation of the current management instead of cleanup of the areas outside the factory. Animal experimentation
The third amendment on which the government went ko concerned the extension until July 2025, 5, instead of just six months as the executive wanted, of animal experimentation in studies on organ xenotransplantation and drugs of abuse.
