Google challenges Uber: ride sharing in San Francisco

Three years ago, Google made an "unusual" acquisition by its standards. The Mountain View giant bought Waze, an Israeli startup that has created an app through which users can monitor traffic. At the same time, it began to provide substantial loans to Uber through GV venture capital.

As reported today by the Wall Street Journal, Google, which began testing its technologies applied to cars in San Francisco at the beginning of 2015, would have decided to "betray" Uber, creating a ride sharing service using the startup Waze .

According to rumors, the drivers will have the possibility of picking up people on the road who have the same destination as them, a service that UberPOOL already guarantees in San Francisco and which in Italy it could be similar to BlaBlaCar.

Right in the shadow of the Golden Gate Bridge, Waze will do the same thing, allowing users to split the cost of gas and the time spent polluting less.
