Google: the most searched words in 2015

Also this year the appointment with i Google Trends of 2015, the collection of themes and searches carried out by internet users in the year we are about to say goodbye. In the Trends of 2015 Google shows us global issues and those of 12 countries in a very detailed way. Among these there is not Italy, but as far as our country is concerned, Google provides the top ten searches on some topics: from characters to emerging words associated with the year 2015 passing through the questions "How to", "Why" , “What it means” and get to tickets and vacation destinations.

Starting from global data, the peak of searches on a single topic was in November and was related to the Paris attacks, with 897 million searches on this topic from all over the world. On the Paris attacks the main questions of internet users are "What happened in Paris?" and “Why did ISIS attack Paris?”. Internet users have also wondered who the Paris bombers were and how many people lost their lives in the attacks. There was also a lot of research on the Pray for Paris initiative and on who the Eagles of Death Metals were, the rock group that performed at the Bataclan theater at the time of the massacre. In the week between 13 and 20 November, the peak of searches obviously came from France; then from the Reunion Islands (French overseas region located in the Indian Ocean, 420 km east of Madagascar) and from nearby Belgium.

As for the most searched topics in 2015, after the Paris attacks we find the surprise Cricket World Cup, with 323 million searches made worldwide. On his side, the competition has the advantage of duration: a full month and a half despite the fact that the final phase of the tournament was carried out by 14 national teams. Obviously the peak of searches came from those countries that had their national team in the World Cup. Research peaks, therefore, from Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan, national teams that excel in this sport, practically almost unknown here in Italy.

And coming to our country we notice how the Italian people of the web are passionate mainly about two-three types of topics, in particular: the great VIPs who have disappeared, the hot topics of the moment and the news. In the first case in Italy there was a peak of Google searches for the death of Pino Daniele (first in the "Words" category and in the "Characters" category), due to the death of the Olympic athletics champion Pietro Mennea, the actress Laura Antonelli and the Rai journalist Maria Grazia Capulli.

As far as hot topics are concerned, like every year, Sanremo dominates. Alongside the Italian singing competition par excellence, we also find the reality shows Big Brother, L'Isola dei Famosi and the Miss Italia 2015 beauty competition. The name of Valentino Rossi is also one of the most searched words in 2015 and will certainly contribute to the The peak of searches this year was also the fiery finale of the MotoGp world championship.

It is also interesting to understand the other trends in the searches of Italians. For example, on the subject of Tickets, here is the Milan Expo. Behind the universal exposition we find the always dear Lotteria Italia 2015, then on the lowest step of this virtual podium are the tickets for the Champions League final which saw Juventus lose against Barcelona at the Olympiastadion in Berlin.

The research on "How to do it" is also curious: from olives in brine to electronic invoices, passing through calls on Whatsapp up to the question that many women ask themselves and that is "How to make a man fall in love". The difficult answer to the internet and Google.
