Google's mobile search overtakes PC worldwide

Google's mobile search overtakes PC worldwide

In some countries, including Italy, it has already been a reality for months. But now it's official worldwide: searches on the Google engine take place most of the time via mobile, and no longer mainly from a PC. This was communicated by the vice president of Google, Amit Singhal, specifying that the results of tablets and in general of devices with a screen larger than 6 inches were not even counted.

A paradigm shift that is now increasingly consolidated, which for Mountain View is also a sigh of relief, given that clicks on mobile are worth less and less for the past three years, given that for advertising it continues to much prefer the big ones computer screens. Less value for advertising, therefore, but offset by the increase in searches, in absolute value and markedly on smartphones.

Reason why Google will insist on a policy that has already been outlined for some time: to reward sites conceived in "responsive design" in the search engine. With this in mind, the American giant has just presented the new mobile format that will debut in 2016: it's called AMP, Accelerate Mobile Pages, and will allow pages to load faster on your smartphone.
