Even giants fall. Monday 14th December, starting just before 13 pm, the children of Google they were inaccessible from Italy and the rest of the world for about 40 minutes. The problem involved all major services of Big G (YouTube, Gmail, Google Maps, Google Play, Google Drive, Google Meet and Google Scholar), including those to manage online advertising (Adwords and Adsense) and those related to Google Assistant. The Meet video call platform, which hosts many of the lessons of millions of students currently in distance learning across Europe, has also failed. The search engine, however, has always continued to function properly.
Those who tried to access Google services found themselves faced with an error message, but for most users the malfunctions were resolved shortly after 13.30pm. Google informs that since 13.52 the problems have been solved "for the vast majority of interested users".
The reports of malfunctions, due to the time difference, came mainly from Europe, but the error messages also appeared on the screens of the rest of the world: from the United States to Canada, from Australia to South Africa, passing through India, Central America and South America.
