Google grows in London: 3 hires

The Brexit ghost does not scare the Californian web giant. It will open a new site and be an extension of the campus already under construction in the complex adjacent to King's Cross railway station in north central London.

Google grows in London: 3 hires

Google has announced plans to expand its London headquarters, opened in June of this year and located in Pancras Square, in the King's Cross area (the railway and underground station of the Harry Potter saga, so to speak).
The new headquarters will be the first building built entirely from scratch by Google outside the United States.

Unlike other manufacturing companies like Nissan, which has threatened a huge cut in investment if UK-made cars have to pay new tariffs to be sold in Europe, Google produces intangibles, which are not subject to these kinds of problems.

The ad looks like a major sign of strength after months of speculation about the future of tech firms in London after the victory of the "leave" in the referendum of 23 June.
The CEO of Google, the Indian Sundar Pichai, said he was enthusiastic about the new project, which should cost about 1 billion.

Positive comments also came from the mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, and by the British Chancellor of the Exchequer Philip Hammond, for which “the announcement is a big vote of confidence in Britain's leading position as a global technology hub".
