He died at the age of 65 after a long illness Paolo Pininfarina, heir to the historic Italian style car manufacturer of Turin, of which he was President. Paolo was the grandson of “Pinin” Farina, the founder of the company and son of Sergio Pininfarina, gentleman entrepreneur, President of Confindustria and senator for life. He graduated in Mechanical Engineering at the Polytechnic of Turin and specialized abroad.

He had to take over the company, a symbol of Italian excellence, in dramatic circumstances when his brother did so 16 years ago Andrea, who was the CEO, died tragically in a car accident a stone's throw from the factory. In 90 years Pininfarina has created 600 models. Paolo's name is linked to the Sergio concept car and the electric hypercar that bears his grandfather's name.
