Goodbye Obamacare: Trump's first victory

On the third attempt, Donald Trump made it. The United States House of Representatives approved the bill to abolish and replace Obamacare, Barack Obama's health care reform. The majority was only four votes: 217 yes against 213 no.

Now, however, the text passes to the Senate where the future of the provision is more uncertain than ever and a compromise between Republicans and Democrats will be needed. “Obamacare was a catastrophe and now it is dead – commented Donald Trump – It is a great plan and I am confident that it will also pass in the Senate”.

For the Republicans and for the president, however, it is an important victory, with which the promise of the electoral campaign is kept (even if, in truth, the conservatives have been talking about dismantling Obamacare for seven years now).

"It risks serious harm to patients: Millions of Americans will lose health insurance as a direct result of the project," says the American Medical Association. Many Republican senators are also critical, who intend to review the measure in the Senate.
