Protagonists are the Wine, in fact, and the Stars. “Between Heaven and Earth” is the theme of Calici di Stelle 2021, an invitation to stop, as if suspended, and to let go of the pleasant sensations that evenings like these can give. The clinking of glasses and the scent of wine will be appreciated in the Municipalities of the Wine Cities and in the vineyards of the hundreds of wineries associated with the Movimento Turismo del Vino during these 15 days of events distributed in the various Italian regions.

The program of the event region by region
Friuli Venezia Giulia
The summer event of Movimento Turismo Vino Friuli VG takes place on Thursday 5 and Saturday 6 August in the spectacular Cloister of San Francesco in Cividale del Friuli: space for pleasant combinations of local flavours, culture and art and tasting the real “stars” of the event… the wines of some of the best regional wineries. Twenty-two evenings in twenty locations in the Cities of Wine. It starts on 31 July from one of the rare bridges in the world dedicated to a wine, that of the Schioppettino between Prepotto and Dolegna del Collio to then arrive at the grand finale on 13 August after touching the various DOC areas of the region in the provincial territories of Udine, Pordenone, Gorizia and Trieste. All events will offer local wines combined with food and wine specialties and moments of entertainment under the stars.
Trentino Alto Adige
For wine enthusiasts, the Movimento Turismo del Vino del Trentino organizes the appointment with the tasting of regional wines on August 7 in Madonna di Campiglio at the FIAT chalet from 19 to 23 pm with wine tasting with the producers followed by dinner inside the refuge . A magical evening dedicated to excellent wines and spirits, paired with traditional dishes and… shooting stars in collaboration with the APT of Madonna di Campiglio and the EITSA amateur astronomers. For the Cities of Wine, the Municipality of Mezzolombardo (Trento) opens the vineyards of the Convent of the Franciscan Friars Minor on Tuesday 10 August. An evening to discover Teroldego, with tasting of wines and grappas from the Cantine di Mezzolombardo served directly by the producers and accompanied by local products prepared by chef Paolo Dolzan. The Mezzolombardo Pro Loco awaits guests from 19.30 pm in a suggestive atmosphere with live music, for a journey under the banner of the Prince of Trentino wines. A photographic exhibition of the ancient village of Mezzolombardo will be set up within the walls of the vineyard and with the collaboration of the Civic Museum of Rovereto there will be the possibility of observing the stars.
Valle d'Aosta
The City of Wine of Morgex (Aosta) proposes Pic-Nic and Concert under the stars on Tuesday 10th August. A great comeback for the prestigious Valle d'Aosta area, signed this year by a beautiful initiative by the Pro Loco of Morgex, under the banner of typical products and strictly by reservation. Art, music, stargazing and food and wine tours, with a dedicated concert.
Piemonte
We point out the Grappa tasting at the Mazzetti d'Altavilla Piedmont Wine Tourism Movement Cellar with a visit to the Distillery (every day by reservation). The restaurant is also active, always by reservation.
On August 10, the Marenco winery in Cascina Maltignosa opens for a suggestive picnic with tasting in the vineyard to enjoy the starry sky of the San Lorenzo note. Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 August The Cities of Wine celebrate summer in Albugnano (Asti) with a toast from the "Balcony of Monferrato". On the night of wine and stars, the town of Albugnano, known as "The Balcony of Monferrato" due to its altitude (549 m high) and the extraordinary panorama that can be enjoyed from the belvedere overlooking woods, vineyards and medieval churches, hosts a food and wine tasting that will see winemakers and producers of the area as protagonists.
Veneto
The Venetian municipalities of Cortina d'Ampezzo and Martellago are twinned with the cellars of the Movimento Turismo del VinoVeneto on 7 August. In Cortina, 9th edition of one of the most eagerly awaited appointments of the summer season in the symbolic city of the Dolomites which combines the pleasure of a glass of excellent wine with the taste of a typical Ampezzo dish, all at the Hotel De la Poste in Corso Italia . The event, organized in collaboration with Città del Vino and VeneziaEventi, will take place from 17.00 to 21.00. Also on 7 August in Martellago (VE), in collaboration with the local Proloco and under the patronage of the Administration, with great tasting at Villa Grimani-Morosini /Ca'della Nave (18.00 pm – 24 pm). In the evening, musical groups, painters who will exhibit their artistic works, workshops with the association of amateur astronomers.
Bassano del Grappa, in the province of Vicenza which on Tuesday 3 August organizes a great event at Palazzo Bonaguro and Belvedere in Piazza Terraglio. An unmissable opportunity, an exceptional journey through the palaces and exhibitions of the historic centre. The Municipality of Nove, the Gruppo Astrofili Monte Grappa and the Astronomical Observatory of Nove are also taking part in the event. Conegliano (Treviso) could not miss, Friday 30 and Saturday 31 July with the Tastings at the Castle, an interesting proposal for tastings of wines and typical products presented by local companies. The two evenings will be enlivened by background music which will make the atmosphere even more suggestive. From 20.00 to 00.30 on Friday 30 and Saturday 31 July it will be possible to taste the excellence of the territory with the guidance of local companies.
Lombardia
on 7 and 8 August in what can be defined as “the perfect location”, ie at the Observatory and Planetarium of Ca' del Monte, above Cecima, in Oltrepo Pavese. A large tasting counter of the best wines of the Movimento Turismo Vino della Lombardia and a picnic basket with "pani di stelle", ad hoc sandwiches made with typical and traditional local products (read more on www.mtvlombardia.com ). It will be a journey into the infinite sky, only by candlelight, in the absence of light pollution to make this tasting occasion unique.
Toscana
The event will take place from 31 July to 15 August in the cellars of the Movimento Turismo Vino della Toscana participating in the initiative and alongside the theme "Between Heaven and Earth" the companies add that of "Desire". So let's go to initiatives that "make the wishes of wine lovers come true": shows, moments of stargazing guided by experts, romantic dinners organized between the rows and much more, to better enjoy nature under the starry sky. Calici di Stelle is also part of the Dante in Vigna initiative. Wednesday 11, Thursday 12 August in Suvereto, municipality of the Città del Vino in the province of Livorno, a three-day special: themed dinners with pairings of Suvereto wines in restaurants and Masterclasses with Suvereto producers. During the three days, a photographic exhibition dedicated to local producers is set up in the streets of the historic centre.
Marche
"Archaeology, Wine and Observation of the Stars" Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 August in the municipality of the Wine Cities of the Marches of Morrovalle (Macerata). It is one of the most awaited events of the Morrovallese summer and of the entire Marche region. The program of appointments to stroll along the beautiful Viale del Pincio and in the magnificent historic center while tasting the best wines of the area and tasting the gastronomic peculiarities under the luminous show of shooting stars is full. In fact, once again this year observation of the celestial vault will be guaranteed under the expert guidance of amateur astronomers. Pleasant musical entertainment will not be lacking and it will be possible to visit the Pinacoteca Museum of Palazzo Lazzarini with the annexed new archaeological section with guided visits to the Archeo Club Morrovalle. The appointment is for Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 August from 19.00 to 24.00.
Abruzzo
The Movimento Turismo Vino Abruzzo celebrates Calici di stelle 2021 on 6 August from 20:30 in the splendid Aragonese Castle of Ortona, in the province of Chieti, where the wineries associated with the Movimento will offer the native Abruzzo vines with an incredible tasting under the stars and on one of the most beautiful "terraces" on the Adriatic Sea. Not only the protagonist wine but also the food and good music for an evening destined to remain in the hearts of Abruzzo winelovers but also of the many tourists who are along the Costa dei Trabocchi in August. The appointment is organized by MTV Abruzzo and the administration of the Municipality of Ortona.
Umbria
From 6 to 10 August in Umbria Wine lovers will be able to go to the 12 wineries of the Movimento Turismo Vino Umbria participating in the initiative to discover the great wealth of the region and the summer stars. On August 10, the night of San Lorenzo, events, guided tastings and entertainment will take place in the squares of the Wine Cities of the Region. The event organized by Movimento Turismo del Vino and Città del Vino has reached its 21st edition, with the important collaboration in Umbria of the Coordination of Wine and Oil Roads. Picnics under the stars, tastings, music and cultural moments, there will be no shortage of observations of the sky, in the company of expert Astronomers who, like every year, will accompany the curious to discover the secrets of stars and planets.
Lazio
Goblets of Stars 2021 in the Cellars of the Movimento Turismo del Vino del Lazio: Cantinamena (Lanuvio, RM) for Saturday 7 and 14 August will meet the wine enthusiasts of the region for Astri di Vino, an evening event and observation of the sky with telescopes. Even the Cantina Pietra Pintaa Cori, in the province of Latina, on August 7th offers a tasting of the wines in the company's barrique cellar. For those who wish, it is possible to dine and spend an evening in nature and admire the stars.
Campania
Movimento Turismo Vino Campania: in the province of Avellino the Cantina Di Marzo on August 10th appointment with the Astrophiles of Benevento. Tasting of Spumante Metodo Classico di Greco di Tufo 1930, accompanied by a small buffet. At the Cantina D'Aione tastings on August 6th. On August 7th in Atripalda tasting and dinner in the Mastroberardino resort. In the province of Naples in Boscotrecase, Sorrentino Vini opens to wine tourists for a dinner in the vineyard and Bosco Medici on August 12 typical products, fried foods and dishes prepared by our chef. Everything will be accompanied by company wines. Tenuta Mainardi in Aquara in the province of Salerno welcomes visitors on 7 and 11 August; double appointment also in Ponte in the Benevento area with Pietreionne Vini: on August 10th for an aperitif and on the 12th for dinner under the stars. From Tenuta Cavalier Pepe: on 10 August jazz under the stars, wine tastings, dinner at the restaurant of the Tenuta La Vista.
Puglia
For the Movimento Turismo del Vino Puglia, Saturday 8 August, at Agricole Felline, "Goblets of Stars and Stripes" will be staged: the culture of American barbecue combined with an incredible selection of production wines and in particular the "zinfandels", alias Primitive. Monday 10 August is the turn of another splendid estate in Crispiano (TA) where the Amastuola Wine Resort stands: an ancient farmhouse from the 1400s surrounded by the renowned Vineyard Garden.
Sardinia
Movimento Turismo Vino joins with 5 wineries that will welcome and offer tastings and entertainment under the starry sky: in the province of Cagliari, Cantina Lilliu in Ussaramanna and Su' Entu in Sanluri. Poderi Parpinello awaits visitors in Sassari and finally Tenuta Muscazega (Luras – OT) and Tenute Olbios (Olbia – OT) on the east coast of the island. Let's go back to the Sassari area with the Sardinian Wine Cities organizing in Tempio Pausania (Sassari). Tuesday 10 August the great event dedicated to Gallura. Organized by the Municipal Administration and the Onav Olbia-Tempio (Gallura) delegation. Also this year's edition of Calici di Stelle in Tempio Pausania is characterized by a very rich programme. Various opportunities will welcome passionate wine lovers who decide to participate in the evening, enhanced by musical entertainment. The occasion is excellent for making tasting itineraries combined with typical Gallura gastronomic products; the wine of the best companies in the area will be presented and served by the Onav expert tasters of the Olbia-Tempio Delegation. The place of the event will be the marvelous setting of the Cloister of the Piarist Fathers, where the Museum of the Great Tenor Bernardo de Muro can be visited throughout the day
Sicilia
The Movimento Turismo del Vino Sicilia on August 10th in the Castle of Salemi celebrates with a great tasting. Wine tasting, gourmet pairings, art and lots of good music.
