There are 2,7 million vehicles that General Motors has decided to collect in the US. GM today informed the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration - the American agency for road safety - of five new recalls for a series of problems with the headlights. The move comes after another massive recall of 2,6 million cars with ignition problems. Now the group estimates charges of $200 million in the second quarter, mainly due to the cost of repairs to recalled cars.
The major recall affects 2004-2012 Chevrolet Malibu, 2004-2007 Chevrolet Malibu Max, 6-2005 Pontiac G2010 and 2007-2010 Saturn Auras. The problem concerns the electrical system linked to the headlights, which come on when the driver brakes.
