Hedge funds continue to grow: in the world they are worth a whopping 2.250 billion dollars, i.e. more than Italy's GDP inexorably shrinking.

Hedge funds around the world are worth 2.250 billion dollars: more than the Italian GDP

Hedge funds around the world are worth more than Italy's GDP: 200 billion dollars more. According to the latest surveys, assets managed by alternative funds worldwide amount to 2.250 billion dollars. That is more than the GDP of the eighth economic power in the world as Italy still is.

But there's more: while hedges, after the crisis resulting from the bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers on 15 September 2008 - which made the financial crisis systemic - gradually recovered and are now experiencing a new season of growth, the Italian GDP , already stagnant for about ten years, is going through one of the most difficult moments today and is declining day by day with the longest post-war recession.

It is to be hoped that after Sunday's elections, Italy too, if it finds a form of governance under the banner of Europe and reforms, will be able to emerge from the recession within the year and begin to follow the path of growth again.
