Vincenzo Nibali dominates the mountain stage and comes very close to conquering the pink jersey, recovering 4'53" on the leader (before this stage) Steven Kruijsiwjk and now finding himself just 44 seconds behind the new number one in the general classification, the Colombian Esteban Chaves , who finishes third in the fraction, detached from the Squalo right on the last climb that led to the finish in Risoul.
Previously the riders had faced the terrible climb of Colle dell'Agnello: summit at 2.700m with ice and fog, which caused the – probably decisive – fall of the pink jersey Kruijsiwjk. Nibali arrived solo after a stage that had first seen teammate Michele Scarponi in the breakaway, and then a great solo by the 2014 Tour winner on the final climb. Nibali will play everything in tomorrow's stage (Saturday), which will conclude us with another arrival in the mountains at Sant'Anna di Vinadio before the grand finale on Sunday in Turin.
