Giro d'Italia: Quintana in pink, stage in Landa

After two mocking sprints, Mikel Landa hits the target on the third attempt and deservedly wins the mountain stage which arrives in Piancavallo at the end of a courageous breakaway.

But the news of the day, beyond the stage success, is the earthquake in the standings due to the gap suffered in the mountains by Tom Domoulin who lost the pink jersey to the benefit of the Colombian Nairo Quintana, who reached the finish line together with Vincenzo Nibali.

The Shark is not able to detach Quintana and therefore remains in third place in the standings, preceded by Domoulin (37' behind Quintana) and 43' behind the pink jersey.

There are still two stages left, tomorrow in the mountains (from Pordenone to Asiago) and Sunday in the time trial, from Monza to Milan but the conquest of the Giro d'Italia will hardly escape Nairo Quintana.
