From insurance to energy: John Perissinotto, former CEO of Generali, will join the board of directors of the multi-utility giant Hera-Acegasaps which will be born in January from the merger between the Emilian Hera and the Northeastern company Acegasaps. The appointment takes place on the direct recommendation of the mayor of Trieste, Roberto Cosolini.

“It's just a choice I made out of civic spirit. I will give my contribution in the best way, as I always have" commented Perissinotto. The former CEO, after leaving the Lion, abandoned all the consequent positions but remained on the board of directors of Fiat Industrial, where he had been called by John Elkann and Sergio Marchionne.

From a professional point of view, Perissinotto is pondering an international commitment in private equity which could lead to news within a few months. In Hera, on the other hand, he will find the chairman Tomaso Tommasi di Vignano, a manager that Perissinotto began to appreciate ever since he was at the top of Telecom Italia immediately after the privatization.
