Giovani Confindustria, Gay: "The war of the crisis is over"

The war of the economic crisis is over, but now we need to build peace. To say it is Marco Gay, president of the Youth of Confindustria, opening the association's conference in Santa Margherita Ligure: "Our wall did not have Checkpoint Charlie but, like the Iron Curtain, the crisis has blocked us in economic, social and political stagnation".

“If many have compared these years of crisis to a war – continued Gay -, today perhaps we can say: the war is over. But peace has to be built”.

For industrial revival of Italy, it is necessary to "Create a hundred companies to save one". With these words, Gay summarizes the vision of the Confinudustria Youth for the future of Italian companies. The hope of the president of the association is that the minister's announcement calenda of an industrial plan arriving in September “do not remain an announcement. We don't want to read it in September, we want to write it together starting today. And we have our proposal”.

The proposal is based on the belief that “Crisis policy and innovation policy need to work together. The country has changed and we need a coexistence that is not only generational but also industrial. If we agree on this, let's start from here and apply it on the territory”.

As for the expectations of the association, the president of the Confindustria Youth clarifies: "We expect seriousness and consistency from the Government to implement the cut in the next stability law of IRES by 4 points, as was promised.”

For Gay, “we are at a financial turning point. Up to now companies have preferred debt financing over equity financing, but if the tax reform is completed, without other electoral stops such as that of the Imu, the idea of 'no taxes for those who invest in small and medium enterprises' could really make the private wealth of Italians flow towards those who produce, towards the real economy”.

Finally, a note onArticle 18 of the Workers' Statute for the private sector. After this first step "it's up to the Public Administration".
