FAI Days: two days among the hidden treasures of Italy

Two days among the hidden treasures ofItaly. It's FAI Spring, now in their twenty-fourth edition, which will be held on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 March and which will exceptionally open the doors to around 900 churches, villas, palaces, gardens, castles and natural areas.

The event will be able to count on a program which, as stated by the Minister for Cultural Heritage and Activities Dario Franceschini during the presentation of the events, leads to "asking why we have wasted so much time in bringing cultural heritage closer to citizens, in investing not only in protection, but also in development“. Above all, the latter is one of the minister's top priorities.

This edition of the Fondo Ambiente Italiano days will be dedicated to the theme of transformation. The slogan of the event, in fact, is "Together we change Italy“. A change that necessarily passes through the discovery, or rediscovery, of an immeasurable cultural heritage, also thanks to the commitment of the FAI Delegations and volunteers

The complete list of the 900 properties open for individual regions is available on www.giornatefai.it, but among the main events we can mention the opening of the Istituto Storico e di Cultura dell'Arma del Genio in Rome, after a long closure for restoration, the megalithic area of Saint-Martin-de-Corléans in Aosta, a visit to the Catacombs of San Gaudioso in Naples, the opening of the historical rolling stock depot of the FS Italiane Foundation in La Spezia and that of the Church of Santa Maria della Valle in Matera, while in Milan the Royal Pavilion of the Central Station will be exceptionally open.
