Journalism, Ischia Award: the 39th edition is underway

The XXXIX edition of the Ischia International Journalism Award starts from Fiumicino with Zina Hamu, winner of the Ischia Journalism Human Rights Award who meets the Italian press at the "Leonardo da Vinci" international airport on Thursday 7 June at 12,00.

Many foreign TV stations and humanitarian associations from all over the world accredited themselves for the event: French Institute in Rome, AMAR Foundation in London, KRG France, Unicef, LCC university Lithuania, Polka Magazine, Kurdish and Iraqi Artistes in Italy , Kurdistan 24 TV. Zina Hamu is an 18-year-old Yazidi girl who, by participating in the Unicef ​​project to become a photojournalist, escaped persecution by ISIS. With the reception at the "Leonardo da Vinci" international airport, the Ischia Prize wanted to underline the universal value of freedom of the press which is the freedom to tell the world.

Also on the occasion of the Ischia Prize, the first edition of the Terna Prize will be held, which was assigned to Roberto Giovannini for eco-sustainable information. Editor-in-chief of La Stampa, he has always followed the issues related to environmental, industrial and energy sustainability with great enthusiasm, designing and creating "Tuttogreen", the monthly insert of La Stampa dedicated to the world of sustainability, in which various environmental issues are addressed , from territorial defense to the fight against climate change. The Award will be presented by Luca Torchia, Terna's Head of Communications and Sustainability.

Other special acknowledgments went to the Italpress press agency for thirty years of activity and to Canale 21 for Campania regional information. The Databenc award, in collaboration with Cultura Italiae, was won by Massimiliano Tonelli, director of Artribune, an online magazine of contents and services dedicated to contemporary art and culture.

Among the novelties of this edition is an app for mobile devices which, in collaboration with Data Stampa, will allow the use of reviews, press agencies and audio and video content, as well as consultation of various newspapers.

The Ischia Prize will be held in Lacco Ameno on Friday 8 and Saturday 9 June, it will be followed as a media partner by Rai News 24 and Radio Montecarlo, with the patronage of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers
