The protagonist, formerly known as US Protagonist began in 2014 edited by Spindrift Jewel as a showcase of the best of design of the Jewelry American. It has since been adopted by Spindrift Italy which every year organizes a selection of pieces by international contemporary jewelery designers.

The 2018 exhibition features the jewels of Alexandra Mor, the new creative director of The Protagonist, Moritz Glik, Yewn, Irthly, K. Brunini Jewels, John Hardy, Ana Katarina, Assael, Tamara Comolli, Sylva & Cie., Dana Bronfman, Alessio Boschi, Shamballa and Daria de Koning.

The selection is designed with sustainable materials that include an array of natural (non-synthetic) and ethically mined and/or recycled gemstones and precious metals, reclaimed wood, and botanical alternatives to materials such as leather and ivory. The exhibition aims to share jewelry design that can lead the way to industry best practices and more environmentally friendly materials without compromising the beauty, elegance or quality of the pieces they create for the true connoisseur.

The jewelry collections of the protagonists will be unveiled on December 10 from 18 to 20 pm as part of an event Christie's lates. Christie's Lates are curated evenings that aim to bring art to life and inspire conversation, highlighting upcoming auction highlights and interactive activities. The event will be open to the press, stylists, buyers and industry luminaries, the best collectors of fine art and jewelry.

The Dec. 10 event will kick off a four-day public preview and sale exhibition Dec. 10-13 at the galleries at Christie's Rockefeller Center.

In keeping with the organization's dedication to green stewardship, 10% of all sales proceeds will go to Space for Giants, a non-profit organization committed to the conservation of the natural habitats of large African mammals, including elephants.

The full collection will be available for purchase on sustainable luxury e-commerce site, Fashionkind.com following the Christie's event.
