Gina Lollobrigida: the Bersagliera of Italian cinema disappeared at the age of 95

The great actress has died at the age of 95 Gina lollobrigida, who for decades has played some of the most iconic roles in Italian cinema, becoming “the Bersagliera".

Last September, the actress was discharged from the clinic after a fall at home which caused her to have a femur fracture for which she was operated. Already four years ago Lollo, as she was affectionately called by her fans, had ended up in the hospital due to a domestic accident.

The femur accident occurred two weeks into the electoral session of 25 September in which Lollobrigida was candidate for Latin to the single-member constituency of the Senate, and in other constituencies in the proportional multi-member constituency, for the 'sovereign and popular Italy' list, which brings together the Communist Party, the Socialist Homeland, Civil Action, More Italy and the Reconquest of Italy.

"The Bersagliera has left us. Deeply saddened, his son Milko and his grandson Dimitri give the sad announcement. In this moment of great pain, the family asks for the utmost respect from the media. Further communications will follow."
