Japan, the flea market arrives on the smartphone

Rakuten Inc., the Japanese giant of electronic commerce and owner of the Rakuten Ichiba site, one of the largest in the world in terms of sales volume, has discovered the second-hand world and is about to launch Rakuma, a highly updated and highly telematic version of the old market of fleas. Rakuma is an application that allows commercial transactions via smartphone between sellers and buyers.

Once the item you want to sell is placed on Rakuma, an operation for which the camera of your smartphone is enough, the application allows you to interact directly with the buyers, thus making it faster and easier to give and receive information, as well as negotiate the price . Rakuma is completely "commission-free": you don't pay anything before, to display your goods, or after, once the transaction is completed. The system expects the established amount to be credited to the seller's current account immediately after the buyer has sent confirmation of having received the item.

It is also possible to set aside the proceeds from the sale on Rakuma, keep the sum on standby, and then use it to purchase other items offered on Rakuma itself or on the Rakuten Ichiba e-commerce site. With Rakuma, Rakuten, thanks also to a captivating graphic design, aims above all to gain the loyalty of young and very young people, incessantly dedicated to finding and exchanging second-hand objects.
