New key vote in Germany. After the stinging defeat in Thuringia and Saxony, which marked the triumph of the far-right AfD, the SPD of Prime Minister Olaf Scholz is seeking redemption in Brandenburg, third and last East German territory to vote. 

In land of the capital Berlin, where the Social Democrats have governed uninterruptedly since reunification in 1990, 22 million inhabitants will be called to vote on Sunday, September 2,6 to elect their representatives. And it is not certain that this will not turn into a new defeat for the SPD. Indeed, according to the polls, the far-right Alternative für Deutschland is ahead.

In view of the September 22nd election in the East German state, a survey by the broadcaster ZDF paints a scenario in line with the recent exploits of the far right in Thuringia and Saxony: in Brandenburg AfD could get 29% of consensus, overtaking the SPD, which is stuck at 26%. Another poll commissioned by the public broadcaster Ard confirms a head to head, with AfD at 27% and the SPD at 26%. The CDU follows at a great distance with a narrow 15%, while the left-wing populist alliance led by Sahra Wagenknecht would collect 14% of the vote.
