Germany: producer prices slow down in May (+6,1%)

Growth in producer prices in Germany was 6,1% in May compared to the same period last year and saw a slowdown from 6,4% in April. Producer prices remained unchanged last month compared to April, when instead they had recorded a 1% cyclical increase.
This was announced by the German Federal Statistical Office which also communicates that the figure is slightly lower than the estimates of analysts who were aiming for a 0,2% monthly increase.
Excluding energy prices, the index rose by 0,2% on a monthly basis and by 3,8% on an annual basis.
Frankfurt opened in the red, down 10% at 1,12am local time.
