The Ifo index, which measures the perception of German companies on the economic prospects for the next three months, is down. The figure was confirmed as worse than expected, reaching 108,7 points in August, against the 111 points expected by the consensus. In particular, the current conditions component decreased to 118,1, against the 120 expected.
Yesterday there were also disappointing data from theZew index. The measure of expectations for the performance of the economy dropped to -37,6 points in August from -15,1 in July.
