Germany, Ifo index: entrepreneurs' confidence is rising

The confidence of German entrepreneurs rises in December. The Ifo index published this morning stood at 105,5 points, against 104,7 in November. The result is in line with analysts' forecasts.

In communicating the data, the research company Ifo defined the recent sharp drops in oil prices and the depreciation of the euro as Christmas "gifts" in favor of the German economy.

The index that measures expectations also improved, going from 99,7 in November to 101,1 in December. On the other hand, the indicator on the current situation was stable, standing at 110 in December, the same level as last month.

In mid-morning, immediately after the publication of these data, the Frankfurt Stock Exchange recorded a rise of 1,75%, in line with the positive trend of the European markets after the Fed's decision to postpone the increase in US rates to mid-2015.
