The index measuring German business confidence rose to 108,6 in April, beating analysts' expectations and reaching its highest level since June 2014.
Confidence among German businesses is growing, having risen to the highest levels for almost a year now. The relative Ifo index, calculated on the basis of a monthly survey of 7.000 businesses, grew from 107,9 recorded in March to 108,6 of April, marking the best reading since June of last year.
The data is revealed top even compared to the forecasts of analysts, who spoke of a more contained growth at 108,4.
