The confidence of German entrepreneurs is still rising, but less than expected. To measure them is theIfo index (based on a monthly survey of around 7 companies), which in September reached 107,7 points, from 107,6 in August, a figure revised from the previous 107,5. The reading is lower than the consensus in a Reuters poll (108,2).
On the other hand, the Ifo index on the current situation decreased, falling from 112,0 to 111,4 points in the same period. Expectations were for an improvement to 112,6.
Lastly, the sub-index relating to business expectations rose from 103,3 to 104,2, against expectations of 104,0.
