Germany: consumer confidence stable at a high of 8,5 points

According to data released by Gfk, German consumer confidence remained at 8,5 points in May, the highest since January 2007 – Economic prospects are down, due to the Ukrainian crisis – Income expectations and the propensity to consumption.

The confidence of German consumers remains stable at high levels. In May, in fact, the related survey by Gfk remained stable with respect to 8,5, the highest since January 2007, confirming itself in line with analysts' forecasts.

On the other hand, economic expectations were down slightly, with a drop of 1,1 points to 32,1 in April, in consideration of the impact of the Ukrainian crisis. However, expectations on incomes are growing, rising by 6,7 points to 52,3 points, hitting the highest since 1991. The propensity to consume is also doing well, rising to 48,6 points.
