Germany, record exports: over 1000 billion in commercial value, better than 2008

The commercial value of German exports is about to touch and exceed the record level of 1.000 billion euros in 2011. This was announced this morning in Berlin by the German Federal Association for Wholesale, Export and Services (BGA).

By the end of the year it is expected that the whole of exports will reach 1.075 billion euros, up 12%, thus surpassing the previous record set in 2008 in which the value stopped just below the threshold of one trillion. On the other hand, the German country is the leading exporter in Europe, and it has always been its strong point.

According to the Bga imports will also grow by 14%, to reach 919 billion euros. The BGA also looks to next year with cautious optimism: the projections regarding the real economy "aren't bad at all", commented the president of the association Anton Boerner.

For next year in fact, the BGA expects further growth in exports of 6%, to 1.139 billion euro, while imports should settle at 983 billion. The driving forces, acknowledged Boerner, are the economies of the so-called emerging countries, which have been marginally affected by the crisis and continue to invest in technologies
the future.
