In Germany, the Ifo business confidence index fell in September for the third consecutive month. The new value scores 107,5 points from 108,7 in August. The decrease is lower than analysts' expectations, who spoke of a value of around 106,5 points, but nonetheless represents a new sign of slowdown for the leading European economy.
Among the individual components of the general index, the one relating to current conditions is at 117,9, from 118,1 in August and against expectations of 116,0. The Business Expectations caption came in at 98,0 from a revised 100 in August and versus expectations of 97,5.
