Germany: industrial orders are down 2,8% in July, worse than expected

The domestic market showed an increase of 3,6%, while the foreign market showed a contraction of -7,4%. However, the German Economy Minister said he was confident of a recovery of the positive trend.

Industrial orders in Germany fell 2,8% month-on-month in July, more than the 1,5% decline expected by analysts. This was announced today by the German Ministry of the Economy, which also underlined how, despite the weakening of recent months, the growth trend in the manufacturing sector still remains solid.
More specifically, orders from the German market recorded a growth of 3,6% while those from abroad showed a decrease of 7,4%. On an annual basis, orders instead showed a drop of 5,5%.
