Over 170 works from the art collection of George Michael, British singer and songwriter, spirit icon of the 80s and 90s will be auctioned next e all proceeds will be used to continue the philanthropic work by George Michael.

George Michael's private art collection is in dialogue with his British contemporaries, artists such as Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin, Sarah Lucas, Michael Craig-Martin and Marc Quinn, together creating the Young British Art movement.

George Michael's dedication to cutting-edge creativity in every field, his artistic sensibility reflects his almost innate support for emerging young artistic talent. Wham! he was the first major Western act to perform in China, playing two concerts in 1985 that went down in history.

The George Michael Collection was unveiled during the world tour of attractions: New York, Hong Kong, Shanghai from February 23 to 28. There The full collection will be open to the public at Christie's King Street, London from 9th to 14th March, with the sale taking place on the evening of 14th March, with estimates ranging from £400 to £1.500.000 and offering enthusiasts and collectors a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to acquire a work owned by George Michael.

Key works in the sale will include Tracey Emin, Drunk to the Bottom of my Soul, 2002; Damien Hirst, The Incomplete Truth, 2006; Bridget Riley, Songbird (1982); and Michael Craig-Martin, Commissioned Portrait Untitled (George), 2007.
