Gentiloni: "Less taxes on labor in the Def"

"The objective of the next economic and financial document is a further reduction in taxes on labour, to guarantee more advantageous investments in labour". This was stated by the Prime Minister, Paolo Gentiloni, a guest on Domenica In.

“There is still a need for special initiatives for the South – he added – Italian growth can improve if growth in the South rises. Carlo Azeglio Ciampi had understood this perfectly. The southern question is a great opportunity for the development of this country”.

Then the new reform agenda: "In a month, Parliament must approve the strategy that will translate into the budget law in the autumn, we must use that deadline to put together an agenda for my government, which was done in 48 hours, now a more structured reform step must be taken: work, the Mezzogiorno, reform of the criminal trial, the new law on competition, the law on poverty and I hope to have good news next week. We have chapters of reforms to complete: public administration, school. I would like to remove this idea of temporariness by giving us an agenda”.

In short, "the deadline is the end of the legislature, then governments can finish earlier if they don't have a majority in Parliament but I always tell my colleagues that we have to work not having the duration in mind but our responsibilities".

As for the Minister of Sport Luca Lotti, hit by a no-confidence motion due to his involvement in the Consip investigation, the premier recalled that the notice of the start of the investigation dates back to December: "His story hasn't changed since then . My faith in him remains unchanged and I hope Parliament's too: we cannot surrender to the idea that a notice of imprisonment breaks a fundamental rule which is the presumption of not guilty. I see many indiscretions circulating, but the news concerning him is from two and a half months ago, it is not clear why today no confidence is being asked".
