The Government has identified Claudio Andrea Gemme as the commissioner for the reconstruction of the Genoa bridge. Gemme is currently a manager of Fincantieri and a member of the council of Confindustria. Genoese, 70 years old, the manager has a degree in Economics and Political Sciences, specializing in International Politics, and among his positions includes that of President of Fincantieri SI Spa (Integrated Systems), member of the Board of Directors of Isotta Fraschini Motori Spa, President of ANIMP National Association of Industrial Plant Engineering, member of the Board of Fincantieri Marine Systems North America. Since November 2016, he has also been director of the Systems & Components Division of Fincantieri, which heads the BU Accommodation & Entertainment, Electric & Electronic Systems.

In Confindustria he is a member of the Advisory Board, President of the Industry and Environment Technical Group, member of the Committee for the implementation of the reform and definition of the aggregation protocols (Pesenti Commission). He is a member of the General Council and of the Presidential Council. An expert in energy and energy efficiency, he has a long past in Finmeccanica, which he joined in 1973, and in the Ansaldo group.

Since Gemme is a senior manager of Fincantieri, it is clear that his appointment raises a conflict of interest with respect to other companies and other subjects who want to take the field for the reconstruction of the bridge but the Government, despite the calls of the Ligurian local authorities, does not it seems to be subtle.
