Starting today, the CDP Group, owner of the building complex of the former Quarto Hospital, is making an entire building available to the Municipality of Genoa, on social conditions, divided into 40 apartments for a total of 100 beds, called the former Casa degli Infermieri , to be allocated to families affected by the collapse of the Morandi Bridge. CDP also intervened in support of the city of Genoa by allowing the deferment, without additional charges for the Municipality, of the payment in relation to the loans granted in installments expiring in the second half of 2018 and in 2019. The intervention will allow the Municipality to free financial resources to be used as a priority to relaunch the territory in the short and medium-long term.

The CEO of CDP, Fabrizio Palermo, commented on the news as follows: "With the delivery of the apartments, as well as with the deferment of payment of mortgage installments, without additional charges for the Municipality of Genoa, approved by our Board of Directors, the CDP Group confirms its concrete support to the city of Genoa and the Ligurian territory. Thanks to the continuous dialogue with local institutions, starting from the hours immediately following the collapse of the Morandi Bridge, we continue our work to implement all the most suitable solutions to support the territory and the companies affected by this tragedy".

The Mayor of Genoa, and Extraordinary Commissioner for the reconstruction of the Morandi Bridge, Marco Bucci, commented as follows: “Our thanks go to Cassa depositi e prestiti, which with the full and total collaboration shown the day following the collapse of Ponte Morandi, made itself available for the city of Genoa. A little over a month after what happened, the Municipality and the Region have managed to allocate temporary accommodation to all the families of Via Porro, testifying to the work carried out with commitment and efficiency by our structures".

The President of the Liguria Region, and Emergency Commissioner, John Toti, declared: “Another important day and another big step forward for the return to normalcy of the families who lost their homes after the collapse of the Morandi bridge. From here, we hope a new chapter can begin for all of them and we hope they can finally find some serenity and comfort in all those daily gestures that are so important to all of us and that these families must recover. Thanks to Cassa Depositi e Prestiti for making these apartments available, never inhabited before, completely renovated and furnished".
