In Genoa, the mobility of the future is already a reality. In the Ligurian metropolitan city, the goal of 100 charging infrastructures for electric vehicles envisaged in the Memorandum of Understanding signed in the middle of last year between the Municipality and Enel X, the division of the Electricity Group dedicated to innovative products and digital solutions, was achieved . Cars and motorcyclists now have a network of 200 charging points at their disposal (each infrastructure includes two charging stations) for public use equally distributed between the centre, east and west.
The announcement took place today during a press conference attended by the Mayor of Genoa Marco Bucci, the Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Mobility Stefano Ballears, the Chief Executive Officer of Enel X, Francesco Venturini, and the Head of Strategic Development of Enel X, Sonia sandei.
“Our strategy is that of a less polluted city that is in step with the times. The installation of columns for recharging electric vehicles is an incentive for the Genoese to focus on low environmental impact motorcycles and cars: an incentive that will bring advantages for everyone in terms of improving air quality and reducing noise pollution ”explains the Mayor of Genoa Marco Bucci.
“I am extremely satisfied with the result achieved. Genoa, the first city in which the installation plan was completed thanks to the fruitful collaboration with the municipal administration, confirms itself as strategic for the achievement of the objectives of the Enel X National Plan. The latter provides for the installation of 28 thousand recharging points by 2022 throughout the national territory”, he underlined Francesco Venturini. “Moreover, Genoa – he added – confirms itself as a pilot city for Enel X's activities and to intensify collaboration on the most innovative projects, after Rome and Milan, we are opening the company's headquarters. A sign of concrete closeness to the city and presence in the area”.
The Enel X headquarters which is located in Via Giusti 2 (central area of the Carmine) and has an area of 442 square meters (16 open workstations space, 3 meeting rooms, 18 workstations smart) was inaugurated today in the presence of Deputy Mayor Stefano Ballears, the Head of Enel X Francesco Venturini and the Head of Strategic Development of Enel X, Sonia sandei.
