Francesco Gaetano Caltagirone, shareholder and vice president of Generali, has sold 1,5 million shares held in the Lion of Trieste. The operation was carried out through Fincal.
The sale took place following the exercise of rights deriving from call options assigned on expiry. The shares were sold in three separate packets of 500.000 shares each, at a price of €13, €13,5 and €14 respectively, for a total value of €20,25 million. The sale dates back to June 16th. The package transferred is equal to 0,096% of the share capital of the Trieste company.
After the sale, the Roman entrepreneur's share dropped from 3,65% to 3,55%. Caltagirone still remains the second shareholder behind Mediobanca and ahead of Leonardo Del Vecchio's Delfin.
