Generali, start of strategic repositioning in Germany

The Lion of Trieste presented the strategic repositioning plan of the business on the German market, to improve the Group's competitive position – CEO Mario Greco: “Germany will play a key role in the coming years, it is our second market”.

Generali rearrange activities into Germany. The Lion of Trieste, in fact, presented the plan today strategic repositioning of its business on the German market, with the aim of “further improving the Group's competitive position by the end of 2018 thanks to simpler and business-focused governance, a greater focus on the strengths of the distribution networks, a new model of business in life that guarantees long-term profitability and a more efficient operating platform”.
As Mario Greco, CEO of the group, explained, “following the completion of the acquisition of the minorities of Generals Deutschland in 2014, we are ready to launch a strategic repositioning that will allow us to be even more ambitious and ready to face the challenges that await us in Germany, the Group's second largest market”.

“Germany – continued Greco – will have a key role in the coming years allowing us to offer excellent insurance services to customers and to be even more attractive to our shareholders. I am very confident that the new management, together with the commitment of all my colleagues, will be able to renew and further improve our activities in the country".

In Germany, as explained by the CEO of Generali Deutschland John Liverani, the group will be faced with the many challenges posed by a market characterized by fierce competition and strict regulation. The company's strategy "will follow three fundamental principles: better serve our customers by leveraging our distribution strength, offer better products through leaner processes, simplify governance to make decisions faster and be more efficient".
