Stefano Marsaglia joins the board of Generali, appointed by majority vote by co-optation. The Board of Directors of the Lion met today, 15 July, under the chairmanship of Andrea Sironi, to appoint the replacement for Francesco Gaetano Caltagirone, who resigned after the confirmation of Philippe Donnet in the role of managing director and the tear on the internal committees.
The Board, specifies a note issued to the insurance group, examined the candidates included in the list presented - names kept strictly confidential until the end - on the occasion of the shareholders' meeting held in Trieste on 29 April 2022, by the shareholder VM 2006 Srl , not named on that occasion. Therefore, “took note of the unavailability of Claudius Costamagna, he held, by majority vote and with the dissent of the Councillors Marina Brogi e Flavio Cattaneo, lacking the requirements for the appointment of the former manager of Generali Luciano Cirina and put the nominations of Alberto Cribiore, Maria Varsellona, Paola Schwizer e Andrea Scrosati, for each of which there was the favorable vote of the majority of the Board. However, since these candidates conditional their acceptance on a unanimous vote, the nomination (as previously occurred with the candidate Roberta Neri) was not completed: the Board thus proceeded, again with a majority and with the dissent of the Directors Brogi and Cattaneo, to appoint Stefano Marsaglia. This appointment was approved by the Board of Statutory Auditors".

Marsaglia, 67, has been appointed independent director. Born in Turin, he boasts a long experience in investment banking with roles of primary responsibility in Rothschilds and Barclays. He was Executive Chairman Corporate and Investment Banking of Mediobanca. He is currently CEO of Azzurra Capital, a private equity company and is a member of the Advisory Board of Afiniti, a multinational active in the AI field.
At present, Marsaglia does not own any shares in Assicurazioni Generali.
