Generali reorganizes Country Italia and appoints Stefano Marsaglia to the investment committee in place of Cattaneo

Generali's board of directors, which met on Monday under the chairmanship of Andrea Sironi, approved the appointment of Stefano Marsaglia, non-executive and independent director, in Investment Committee with immediate effect, in line with the recommendation of the Nomination and Corporate Governance Committee. The appointment follows the decision of Flavio Cattaneo, non-executive and independent director, to resign from the committee due to new professional commitments (Cattaneo became CEO of Enel).

Generali reorganizes the Country Italy division 

The boards of directors of Generali Italia, Alleanza Assicurazioni, Genertel and Genertellife have approved a new phase of the reorganization of the Country Italy by Generali, "in order to better respond to the changed macroeconomic context", we read in a note. 

The reorganization, which will take effect from 1 July 2024 “has the objective of enhance the specialization of the different channels distribution systems, to create dedicated and non-overlapping centers of expertise within the country, to enhance the range of products and services offered to the different customer segments, creating a benefit for insureds", specifies Generali.

In particular, through a partial demerger of genertellife, it is expected that Genertellife will be dedicated to the management of relationships connected to the existing distribution agreement with Banca Generali and relating to the Bg Vita division. 

Genertel it will also consolidate its digital skills by focusing the business on the development of the direct channel, in the life and non-life sectors, both in Italy and in Europe. 

Alliance, for its part, it will further develop its business, implementing the channel dedicated to bancassurance activities, to complement that of its distribution network. 

Generali Italy finally, it confirms its focus on the network of agencies present throughout Italy and the management of bancassurance portfolios in run-off. The project will also lead to a strengthening of capital solidity at Country Italy and group level.
