Generali Italia, anti-earthquake policies discounted by 50%

the Company has decided to co-participate, immediately, in the earthquake risk coverage by supporting 50% of the premium relating to this guarantee, both in favor of its customers and new policyholders.

Generali Italia undertakes to actively support the spread of earthquake insurance coverage in Italy. For this reason, the Company has decided to co-participate, immediately, in the coverage of the earthquake risk by supporting 50% of the premium relating to this guarantee, both for its customers and for new policyholders. It is also working on the design of a new and broader insurance proposal dedicated to catastrophic events which will be launched at the beginning of 2017.

“Italy is a fragile territory where the geological conformation and the seismic inadequacy of the buildings determine a high risk. Faced with this real danger, only 1,2% of homes are covered by insurance despite the fact that the home represents the most important, and sometimes the only, asset for Italian families” commented Marco Sesana, CEO of Generali Italy, continuing "With this initiative we want to contribute to a greater diffusion of coverage against catastrophic risks by taking the first step towards developing a more distributed and solid protection network throughout the Italian territory."

For Generali Italia customers who already have a home policy and decide to extend the guarantee also to earthquakes, and for new customers who take out a policy to cover the risks of the home including the earthquake guarantee, Generali Italia, for all contracts finalized from today and by 31 December 2016, discounts of 50% on the rate of the earthquake guarantee only. The same conditions are also extended to the insurance coverage of condominiums. The 50% discount will remain valid also in the following years in case of tacit renewal of the policy.

In fact, the Company has recently launched "Generali Qui per Voi": a new service model that is activated precisely in the event of a natural disaster, to be immediately close to customers in identifying concrete solutions, to the benefit of the economic recovery of the whole area affected by the event. “Generali Qui per Voi” has a capillary network of sentinels who constantly monitor the area and, in the event of a serious natural event, immediately activate a dedicated team and a toll-free number. In the event of unavailability of the agencies and operational points, the mobile units ensure full team operations in the event area.
