New organization for Generali Country Italia
. The board of directors of the company, on the proposal of the new Country Manager & CEO Generali Italia, Giancarlo Fancel, has launched a new structure in order to achieve the priorities of the Strategic Plan Lifetime Partner 24 Driving Growth.

“The new organization, which leverages the enhancement of our best skills and internal talents, will allow Generali Country Italia to best express its full potential and at the same time create value for our customers, the Group and all stakeholders. This new organizational structure was launched precisely to implement the 2022-24 Strategic Plan. We will have to continue our commitment to customers and the territory, working at the same time to integrate Cattolica and all the new colleagues who are part of our Group", declared the new Country Manager and CEO of Generali Italia, Giancarlo Fancel. 

The new appointments of Generali Italia

As part of the new organization, two General Managers reporting directly to Fancel are appointed: Gianluca Perin and Massimo Monacelli.

In detail, as regards the two General Managers, Gianluca Perin, currently Chief HR & Organization Officer of Generali Country Italia, is appointed Country General Manager with the responsibility of coordinating the implementation of the initiatives connected to the Strategic Plan, the business support functions, the levers necessary to guarantee the process of transformation and efficiency improvement of the operating machine and the optimization of the overall costs of the Country, the development and the implementation of an integrated management and analysis system of data and policies relating to human resources as well as internal and external communication activities. 

Massimo Monacelli, currently Chief Property & Casualty Officer of Generali Country Italia, is appointed General Manager of Generali Italy with responsibility for: achievement of Life, Non-Life and Health & Welfare business objectives in terms of profitability and business growth, claims settlement, distribution management, marketing activities, development of services provided by Generali Welion and Generali Jeniot, the coordination of Cattolica Assicurazioni activities and the related Integration Program. 

Reporting directly to Fancel, the main central functions of Country are defined as:

– the Chief Financial Officer, entrusted to Julia Raffo

– the Chief Marketing & Product Officer entrusted to Davide Passero, 

– the Country Chief Investment Officer entrusted to Maurizio Verbich, 

– the General Counsel entrusted to Cristina Rustignoli.

– Corporate Social Responsibility entrusted to Barbara Lucini.

Added to these are Alleanza Assicurazioni (led by Davide Passero), Genertel and Genertellife (led by Maurizio Pescarini), Das (led by Roberto Grasso), Genagricola (led by Igor Boccardo).

The purpose of the rearrangement

As explained in a note, the organization, which aims at enhancing the best internal skills, is based on:

  • an important simplification of the supporting structure growth 
  • greater coordination for product offerings at country level; with innovative services, new digital solutions and methods of interaction with the network and customers; 
  • the coordinated address of the agency channels;
  • la data management; unitary and integrated of all cost factors at country level; 
  • the acceleration of the process Catholic integration in the Generali model by taking full advantage of the economic synergies envisaged;
  • a strong push on sustainability, further integrated into the business through the implementation of the ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) strategy both on the investment and product side, promoting the dissemination of the culture of sustainability within the Company.
