Generali Italia: appointments and new structure for Health & Welfare

Important changes in Generali Italia after the ok to a new organizational model which integrates the commercial, technical and settlement components in a dedicated structure, called Health & Welfare. The purpose of the reorganization is to accelerate Health and Welfare by "responding more quickly to customer needs", says the company in a note. 

He will be the head of the Health & Welfare office for Italy from 1 March Paolo De Santis, while Cesare Lai he is appointed CEO of Generali Welion, the Generali Italia company specializing in integrated welfare programs and services dedicated to health.

De Santis, manager of the group with many years of experience in the insurance sector and in particular in the health sector, former managing director of Generali Welion, will report directly to the Country Manager & CEO of Generali Italia and Global Business Lines, Marco Sesana. Over the years, Lai has held roles of increasing strategic importance in many areas of the insurance, brokerage and consultancy sectors.  

The Health & Welfare structure “will be responsible for employee benefits business insurance management regarding the risks of illness and permanent disability due to illness of Generali Italia as well as the coordination at country level (Generali Italia, Genertel, Alleanza Assicurazioni) of the activities of the health business and the related services provided through Generali Welion, which becomes the point of reference Employee Benefits on Health and Wellbeing (Illness, Accidents) and Protection of Life in general”, explains the company.

Marco Sesana he declared: 'Today more than ever, health and welfare are fundamental for families, for businesses and for the country. To improve the quality and accessibility of coverage and customer services, we are redesigning our organizational structure with the aim of continuing to innovate and simplify by evolving in these priority areas for people's lives. Strengthened by our expertise, we want to consolidate our leadership on the market: we aim to accelerate the growth of the insurance business and the management of claims for third parties".
