Sustainability has become the watchword of doing business and it also applies to Generali Italia. This morning, 21 November, it was launched in Milan Generate Sustainable Development, an investment insurance solution related to the sustainability objectives contained in the United Nations 2030 agenda.

GeneraSviluppo Sostenibile offers customers the possibility to choose from five portfolios that combine the 17 UN objectives to promote economic growth that favors social inclusion and environmental protection.

The five investment portfolios concern as many macro-areas of interest: equal opportunities, to invest in companies that promote respect for them, the protection of minorities and gender equality by promoting fair professional growth; sustainable growth, to invest in companies that promote "smart cities", characterized by technological development, respect for the environment and the workforce in order to improve the quality of life of citizens; health and wellness, to invest in companies operating in the field of health, natural food, products and services that promote an active lifestyleo and healthy; responsible consumption, to invest in companies that implement a circular economy that respects natural resources in line with the protection of the seas and the land; climate protection, to invest in renewable energies and in companies that implement environmental policies to protect natural resources.

The investment is completed by the separate insurance management GESAV with assets of over 43 billion of Euro.

The customer will have the option to choose the goal for sustainable development closest to its values, of invest in sustainable companies and later measure the impact of one's choice through MioS, a digital system that accompanies the customer, together with the agent, in this process of choice, placement and investment measurement.

For example, if a customer decides to invest in the climate protection macro-area, according to the data processed by the MioS system, over 900 liters of water will be saved in a year, equal to over 13 showers, and pollution will reduced by 1.260 kilograms CO2, equal to 9 trips from Milan to Rome.
